Templates is the screen where you pick the starting point for an email. At the top is the gallery of ready-made interactive templates, with your brand’s logo and colors. Below are your templates, the ones you created or renamed in the editor. To open it, click Templates in the side menu.

The screen’s tabs

  • Email — the gallery and your email templates. This article covers it.
  • WhatsApp (Meta) — WhatsApp message templates, which Meta approves before you can send. They’re explained in How to create and get a message template approved (Meta). Accounts still on the older WhatsApp provider see a WhatsApp tab (instead of, or alongside, the Meta tab).
The first time you open the screen, you’ll see “Initializing your template gallery…”: Cliqo copies the gallery templates into your brand, already with your logo and colors. If the account’s colors haven’t been set yet, the screen shows the Set up your brand notice with a Set up → shortcut to Settings › Brand. To find a template, use the categories (All, E-commerce, Payment, Engagement, Survey, Welcome; Travel has no templates today) or the Search templates… box. What each card shows:
  • A preview of the email and what it does. On a computer, hovering shows the “Customers can:” list.
  • ⚡ Interactive in the inbox — the customer answers, picks or buys without leaving the inbox. Only templates that really have interaction get this badge (the black AMP badge shows on every card and doesn’t tell you that). Cashback / Giftback and Find the Trophy don’t: they’re announcements with a button or link.
  • ✅ New on recently launched templates; the rest show as Legacy.
  • Test — sends the template to one or more of your email addresses (see below).
  • Edit — opens the template in the editor.
While the gallery is being prepared, the card’s button shows Coming soon. Wait a few seconds or refresh the page.
Payment templates charge through the account’s payment provider (Settings › Payments). Without an active provider, the customer sees “Pagamento indisponível no momento” (payment unavailable at the moment) when trying to pay.

Send a test

In Test, pick a test list or type the address in Recipient email and click Send test. The test goes out from the active brand’s default sender. Open it in Gmail on the web to see the interactive version; other email apps show the plain version.

Use a template to start a campaign

There are two paths. Both lead to the same editor. From the Templates screen
1

Open the template

In Templates, click Edit on the card.
2

Check the name

At the top of the editor, the Template name field already has the template’s name. Change it if you want to keep your version separate from the gallery (see My templates, below). Without a name, the editor won’t save.
3

Go to sending

Click Configure sending. Cliqo saves the template and opens the campaign setup with it already selected. From there, follow How to create and send a campaign.
From the Campaigns screen Click New campaign › Email campaign. On the “How do you want to create the email?” screen, choose Interactive templates. The gallery opens in picking mode (“Choose an interactive template”); click Use this template → on the one you want. This path opens a copy of the template: whatever you change stays in the campaign’s email, and the template stays as it was.
In the editor, Save keeps the email and creates a draft in Campaigns (you’ll see “Draft created in Campaigns.”). To keep a copy in Templates and use it in other campaigns, click Save as template, give it a name and click Save template. The open email and its campaign don’t change. On screens narrower than 1536 px (most laptops), Save as template shows only as an icon, next to Save; on hover it says “Keep a copy in Templates, to reuse”.

My templates

Below the gallery is the My templates section: “The ones you created or renamed. They open straight in the editor.” Each card shows the preview, the name, the subject (or “no subject”) and the creation date. Click the card to open it in the editor. The gallery cards are Cliqo’s base copy in your brand. Cliqo does not rewrite a template that is already ready in your account, even if you changed it. The “Templates updated!” notice shows when the gallery gets a template that wasn’t ready in your account yet. To keep your own version apart from the gallery, change its name in the editor and save: the template moves to My templates and the gallery gets the base copy back. Or use Save as template, which creates the copy with the name you choose.

Remove a template from the list

On a My templates card, click the trash icon (on a computer it shows when you hover) and confirm with Move to trash. Nothing is deleted right away: the template stays recoverable in Trash, in your avatar menu.
A template in use in a campaign (drafts included) or an automation can’t go to the trash. The screen warns “Can’t move it: this template is in use in N place(s)”. Swap the template there first. Keep in mind that a template saved with the editor’s Save is usually in the draft it created.

Each brand has its own templates

If your account has more than one brand, everything on this screen belongs to the active brand in the top-bar selector:
  • Each brand’s gallery is its own copy, with that brand’s logo and colors.
  • My templates shows only that brand’s templates. Switch brands and the list changes.
  • A template you create in the editor is born in the active brand.
  • In the campaign setup, the template picker also lists only the active brand’s templates.
That way, one brand’s email never goes out looking like another’s. More on brands in Understand accounts, brands, and members.
